La classification CEAP
The phlebologist refers to the CEAP classification to objectify observations related to the venous disease (introductory page here).
Purely descriptive, the classification accounts for the observation made according to four criteria: the clinical class (C) matching a description of the symptoms, the etiology (E), the anatomical distribution (A) of reflux and obstructions in the superficial veins, and the underlying pathophysiology (P), whether related to reflux or obstruction.
